This is a small selection of photos from my visit to Antarctica in 2007. From the vibrant scenery in Ushuaia and Buenos Aires to the vastness of the Southern Ocean, the photo ops were endless and everywhere. Disappointingly, 45+ degree temps created a massive fog bank over portions of the Weddell Sea, keeping us from getting to "Iceberg Alley". Mother Nature made up for it later on, providing a rare chance to view the mountaintops within the Gerlache Strait.

Select photos from the trip are available for purchase.

My first experience seeing what saltwater does to metal camera housings! The seals on my D2x did not disappoint though, and a little rinse in the shower made everything right.

On that note, my first time showering with a camera - how randy!
